How do I submit a referral?

  1. Navigate to the members section of the website: https://www.generalreferral.com/members
  2. Click on "Submit a Referral" after checking out our sample referral agreement to get a feel for the information you will need.
  3. Have you selected a receiving agent? Select Yes or No.
    • If no, complete the information for your client and General Referral will handle selecting the receiving agent and negotiating a referral fee. N.B. There is a cap on your referral fee of 25% for referrals place by GR.
    • If yes, be sure to fill in the name and contact information for both the receiving agent and the receiving manager. If the receiving agent and the receiving manager are the same person, you may leave only the receiving agent field blank.

Additional Notes/Best Practices

  • Learn how referral fees work.
  • Once the referral agreement is signed by all parties, you will automatically receive a fully executed copy by email. Check in with the receiving agent and manager the next business day after you submit the referral to make sure they have received the signature request.
  • If you do not receive a fully executed agreement in a reasonable amount of time, we suggest that you reach out to the receiving agent to help facilitate the process.
  • Once you complete your first referral, we will invite you to create an account with our payroll provider.
